Design maverick and eternal Milanese Muse Nina Yashar, founder of Nilufar Gallery, ventured into the world of modernist furniture in the late 1990s. Over the past two decades Yashar has become an international sensation for her discerning eye and eclectic style, solidifying Nilufar as a leading source for all things design-related. With a manifesto focused on three words: Discovering, Crossing and Creating, the sky is the limit for this visionary thinker. Yashar’s affinity for historical and contemporary design coupled with her exceptional eye for mixing has proven such a success that she recently opened a second outpost called Nilufar Depot in 2015. This three story, theater-like setting offers a rotating selection of 300-400 museum quality pieces styled in room vignettes with the same curatorial approach as Nilufar Gallery; picture an early Gio Ponti Chair next to a Massimiliano Locatelli table, sitting atop a Tibetan rug and lit with a Chinese chandelier.
