10 Corso Como - New York-

Location:

1 Fulton Street, New York, NY 10038

Gallerist, fashion editor, publisher and muse, Carla Sozzani, is brining her world famous concept store, 10 Corso Como, to downtown New York. A pioneer of high-end, conceptual retail, Sozzani opened her first boutique in Milan in 1991, with outposts in Seoul, Shanghai and Beijing that have since followed. Born out of Sozzani’s intense curiosity and love for the unconventional, 10 Corso Como stemmed from her unique desire to construct an environment that stood as a physical embodiment of a high fashion magazine, a place that brings together contemporary and established art, culture, fashion and design.

A pioneer of progressive brands ranging from Azzedine Alaia and Rei Kawakubo’s Comme des Garcons, to Jean Paul Gaultier, Maison Margiela and Yohji Yamamoto, Sozzani merchandises a heady mix of established designers and lesser-known names, alongside a currated selection of books, ephemera, home goods, jewelry and fine art.

Her latest, 28,000 sq ft space at New York's South Street Seaport, will house the quintessential Corso Como mix, including a café, garden, restaurant, and retail space, offering a selection of exclusive products from her impressive roster of brands and collaborators. This all-encompassing, sharply edited space is sure to be an antidote to the struggling world of brick-and-mortar retail. A must go for anyone looking for a fresh perspective on commerce in a beautifully enticing environment.
