Peter Copping: Must Go

Comptoire d’Image

Date:

Open Monday – Saturday, 12-7PM; Closed Sunday

Location:

44 Rue de Sévigné, 75003 Paris, France

Deep in the heart of the Marais at 44 rue Sévigné lays a tiny, classically French bookshop called Comptoir de l’Image. Slightly claustrophobic at times – in the most stimulating manner – Comptoir de l’Image is a book lover’s paradise. Piled high with vintage magazines and titles relating to art, fashion, music, and other creative genres, you can spend hours browsing the shop’s overflowing shelves. Last time I visited I purchased a collection of DUTCH magazines – I had completely forgotten how cool it was. Truth be told, I have never left the store empty handed, and neither will you! A ‘must go’ whether you’re on the hunt for rare, archival material, or yearning for a relaxed afternoon of browsing.
