It is not everyday that two of New York fashion’s most notable females are in conversation. In the latest edition of ‘Fashion Icons with Fern Mallis’, a series within 92Y Talks, Mallis, founder of New York fashion week, will host living legend Iris Apfel on stage for a career spanning conversation. With more than 35 years in the business under her belt and countless notable interviews later, Fern Mallis has hosted riveting talks with fashion icons ranging from Calvin Klein and Valentino, to the late Bill Cunningham and, most recently, New York-based fashion designer Thom Browne. Mrs. Apfel, known worldwide for her singular personality and eccentric, individualistic style, has been the focus of a 2005 blockbuster exhibition of her clothing and accessories at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, was the subject of Albert Maysles documentary in 2014, titled ‘Iris’, has an affordable jewelry line with HSN and a newly released memoire, ‘Iris Apfel: Accidental Icon’. At 96 years old, this textile maverick and founder of Old World Weavers is busier than ever.

Please see the link above to reserve tickets for Fern Mallis and Iris Apfel in conversation at the 92nd Street Y on Wednesday, March 21.
