Frieze New York

Every May since 2012, Frieze art fair has been descending upon New York’s Randall’s Island for a weekend of arts and culture. With a grand total of nearly 200 participating galleries from over 30 countries, this stateside fair is an international melting pot of contemporary art, performance, lectures and creative engagements.

Each consecutive year the fair grows its impressive roster of sponsors and collaborators through unique installations and curated vignettes. This year, Minnie Muse is lucky enough to be participating in the festivities, having art directed the fair’s exclusive VIP lounge in collaboration with Saks Fifth Avenue. The Minnie Muse x Saks Fifth Avenue x Frieze partnership materialized through the impetus of creating an archival depiction of Saks’ captivating history as one of New York’s leading luxury retailers. The focus of this project grew to become a targeted narrative on Saks’ iconic shopping bag, encompassing the origins graphic design, branding and retail to create a captivating installation experience.
