Neiman Marcus Hudson Yards
Over 120 years in the making, Neiman Marcus is just days away from opening its first Manhattan location; a dual luxury shopping and dining destination in New York’s Hudson Yards. Founded in 1907, the Dallas-based luxury retailer now operates 43-stores across the United States and is currently in the process of disrupting the traditional department store model, transforming from a historic retail network into a state-of-the-art digital luxury platform.
The first of its kind, Neiman Marcus’s latest flagship location spans three expansive floors – levels 5, 6 and 7 – of The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards. The 188,000 square foot retail store boasts a curated offering of thoughtfully sourced products, services, installations and experiences, encompassing luxury fashion, digital innovation, arts & culture, and three delectable dining options.
While Neiman Marcus is a luxury retailer built on heritage, they remain feverishly committed to adapting their storied formula for the next generation of consumers. This customer-centric shopping experience includes unique services that elevate, enhance and optimize the traditional retail environment, ranging from digital styling sessions and a personal shopping lounge – both located on level 7 – to in store memory mirrors, digitally enabled changing rooms, and the option for fitting room checkout.
In addition to a wide-ranging selection of merchandise sourced from an array of iconic brands and emerging designers, Neiman Marcus Hudson Yards is offering a slew of exclusive products and in-store shops. Going on vacation? The Neiman Marcus Travel Shop has you covered. Need a party dress but you don’t want to wear ‘current season’? Head up to the Resurrection Vintage boutique on level 7 for a curated selection of the best high fashion vintage apparel New York has to offer. Have you worked up an appetite between watching an in-store panel discussion at Neiman Marcus Live, and adding embroidery to your favorite new jeans at the customizable shop by Atelier Notify? Visit the Cook & Merchants food outpost on level 5 for a selection of quick bites and coffee from local New York eateries, or Bar Stanley and The Zodiac Room – on levels 6 and 7, respectively – for a relaxed fine dining experience that is both classically innovative and comfortably upscale.
As if the products and services offered at Neiman Marcus Hudson Yards aren’t enough to get you through the doors, the space alone, even void of merchandise, would be worth a visit. Designed by multidisciplinary architecture and interior firm Janson Goldstein, the palatial retail space connects the industrial materiality of New York’s West Side with Neiman Marcus’ ties to modern luxury. The raw and refined retail space, featuring elevated materials such as bronze, terrazzo and lacquer, is brought to new heights by the store’s featured artwork.
In keeping with the luxury retailer’s tradition of supporting local talent, the Neiman Marcus Hudson Yards Art Collection brings new work from local New York artists to the store alongside highlights from the Neiman Marcus Art Collection, which includes a painting by Frank Stella, a Roy Lichtenstein print, an expansive mobile by Alexander Calder, and original Halston sketches, as well as photographs by Roxanne Lowit and Bill Cunningham. Last but not least, Minnie Muse is very excited to be partnering with Neiman Marcus on a first-of-its-kind digitally curated art wall welcoming shoppers into the store’s main entrance – located on level 5 of The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards. This constantly evolving installation is a physical embodiment of Minnie Muse’s digital content – a Muse Board come to life – that cannot and should not be missed when visiting this Must Go retail store!
