Take Home a Nude

Andy Warhol
Debbie Harry, 1980
The New York Academy of Art was founded in 1980 by a passionate group of art patrons, scholars and artists, such as Andy Warhol, who recognized the need for classical education in drawing, painting and sculpture as a necessary foundation for the progression of contemporary art.
Every fall the Academy hosts their annual ‘Take Home a Nude’ auction at Sotheby’s, bringing together the work of inspiring young artists and an impressive crowd of art lovers and patrons. This year, the 27th edition of the Take Home a Nude benefit will celebrate the importance of a muse, honoring eleven “Muses” who have inspired notable artists and artworks, including Brooke Shields, Jerry Hall, Debbie Harry and Helena Chirstensen. Join Minnie Muse on October 9th for a fantastic, art-filled evening of glorifying the role of muses from around the world in support of the New York Academy of Art!
