Rare book aficionado and dealer Harper Levine opened his East Hampton, New York-based bookshop and gallery in 1997. Levine has since expanded his dealing into the city and opened a space on the Upper East Side in January 2016 called Harper’s Apartment. Up through mid-January 2018, Harper’s Apartment will be showing an extensive Keith Haring Pop Shop archive including rare, original material and scarce branded ephemera. This comprehensive, 182-piece archive, on view and for sale, contains a variety of materials ranging from an oversized, silkscreened billboard, designed by Haring in 1986 to publicize the Pop Shop from an advertising space on Houston Street, to personal notes of Haring’s as well as posters, stickers, buttons, invitations, postcards and original Pop Shop merchandise.

Click HERE to learn more about the history of Keith Haring’s Pop Shop and be sure to Visit Harper’s Apartment between now and the middle of January to get an in-person look at iconic merchandise and ephemera representing downtown, New York City in the 1980s.

Harper’s Apartment is open Thursday through Saturday from 12:00 to 6:00PM and by appointment only. Contact mail@harpersbooks.com with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
