What A Day Was This

Adam Pendleton

Date:

March 8 – August 2018

Location:

Lever House - 390 Park Avenue

Opening on March 8th in the lobby of Lever House, Gordon Bunshaft’s iconic glass skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, is a site-specific installation, titled ‘What a Day Was This’, by young, New York-based artist Adam Pendleton. This unique show, commissioned by the Lever House Art Collection, incorporates a wide range of techniques and media, two recurrent themes in Pendleton’s multi-disciplinary practice, which often includes painting, photography, publishing, photographic collage, video and performance. The artist’s thoughtful approach to this specific commission is felt through the installation’s direct dialogue with the building’s interior and exterior architecture. Pendleton’s work is in continuous conversation with the modernist space, changing and evolving as the day passes by amidst the hustle and bustle of Midtown Manhattan. A Must See show for anyone in the area looking for the perfect dose of mid-work-week culture.
