Miuccia Prada showcased her superior flair for well-balanced contradictions in Miu Miu’s Spring/Summer 2013 runway collection. The show’s artful garment execution was mirrored in its romantic storytelling – thematically based on a working femme fatale character, refined, yet imperfect in her practical elegance. The elevated air of the collection’s well-tailored, slim fitting skirts and ladylike dresses were contrasted through commanding overcoats and ‘barely there’ bralettes. Prada’s use of conflicting materials such as denim and fur were brought to life through effortless styling and unconventional accessories. As the collection progressed the fabrics became more luscious, through the inclusion of duchess satin and fur coats. A practical and playful take on ladylike dressing fit for a Miu Miu girl.
