Bauhaus

A German art school founded in 1919 by Walter Gropius that combined crafts and the fine arts. The literal translation of the German term "Bauhaus" is "Construction House", understood to mean "School of Building". The Bauhaus School later closed in 1933 by its own leadership due to pressure from the Nazi regime.
